The Design-Build Institute of America not only named Battle Stations 21 Best Public Sector Building Over $15 million, it also honored Battle Stations with the organization's first-ever Best Overall Project award. Battle Stations beat out stiff competition such as the acclaimed new Washington Nationals baseball stadium for the award.

The student enrollment at Blackhawk Middle School in Bensenville, Ill. has grown in recent years. The original cafeteria, built in the 1960’s, needed to be enlarged to handle twice the number of students in each lunch period. Despite the unease caused by the meltdown of the housing market in 2007, ENR's Top 500 Design Firms had a banner year. As a group, the Top 500 generated revenue of $80.62 billion, up 15/8% from $69.61 billion in 2006. The prosperity was widespread. Of the 459 firms on this year's Top 500 that submitted surveys last year, 382 enjoyed revenue gains in 2007, while 77 experienced declines and on remained unchanged.
