Group President, Engineering

Wight & Company was founded on its engineering capabilities, and Mr. Mesha continues to uphold its long tradition of engineering excellence. Pete is responsible for all aspects of the engineering department.

His 30-year track record of managing transportation and infrastructure projects for private and public clients has given him the knowledge and ability to understand the project from the client’s perspective. With his leadership, the Wight engineering team has developed procedures to efficiently partner with the permitting/regulatory authorities and the utilities companies to efficiently facilitate construction project schedules.

During his career Pete has developed a keen interest in transportation engineering. His experience with all modes of transportation and their applicable engineering needs has steered Wight’s engineering department to include transportation engineering as a primary discipline.

Pete is dedicated to sustainable engineering practices and encourages his staff to apply sustainable stormwater management techniques when possible. He is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council.

Pete has served as the President of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois for 2006 – 07, is currently chair of the ACEC-IL Sustainability Task Force, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Illinois Road Builders Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
