Group President, Architecture

Richard is responsible for the daily operations of Wight’s architecture department. He ensures client satisfaction, maintains quality control and manages the staffing needs for design projects. He is also responsible for business development and client relations.

Much of Richard’s 30 years of experience has been at Wight. He is adept at all phases of design and is knowledgeable about project types, including educational facilities, public buildings and master planning and indoor environmental engineering.

Under Richard’s direction, Wight’s architecture department has grown to include design professionals, landscape architects and interior designers. Wight is ranked as a Top 500 Design Firm by Engineering News-Record.

A member of the U.S. Green Building Council and a LEED Accredited Professional, Richard is a company leader for sustainable design strategies for all of Wight’s design assignments.

Richard received a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
