We look for individuals who will team internally and externally with our clients, other experts and consultants. Wight & Company is integrated in all aspects. Our construction managers, engineers and architects not only sit together, drive to client meetings together, and in general, work as a team, but they also get along and enjoy working with each other. Many of our employees work from our main office in Darien, Ill., in a recently LEED Certified building that is itself an experiment in sustainability. We also maintain offices in Chicago, Ill. and South Bend, Ind.

As a founding member of the U.S. Green Building Council, we encourage all employees to join the Chicago Chapter. Every month more of our employees become LEED Accredited Professionals and continue to enhance Wight’s dedication to applying sustainable design and construction methodologies to our projects.

Continuing education and training is a key component to working at Wight. Lunch & Learn has been a part of our culture for years and during the last three years we’ve expanded our education and training seminars. We formalized our training programs in 2005 with Wight University, which combines training, coaching and knowledge-sharing programs to help our staff stay on the leading edge of our industry. We offer LEED Accredited Professional classes for any employee who would like to become accredited-and we think everyone should; not to mention our financial, business development, and estimating software training. Additionally, some of the training programs also count towards CPU credits.
