Sustainable Construction

Going beyond green design

Sustainable construction begins before the first shovel hits the ground. As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Wight is well practiced at incorporating varying degrees of sustainability into each project. Using the LEED green building rating system is one of the approaches we take toward creating a green project.

Regardless of certification, we incorporate sustainable practices when appropriate. Standard procedures at Wight & Company consider the correlation between the sustainable design of buildings and a user’s quality of life. Our construction professionals develop site logistic plans to implement sustainable site measures and waste management programs. During construction, we employ numerous procedures to reduce the effect on both people and the environment, while paying particular attention to indoor environmental quality.
