Waste Management commissioned Wight & Company to design the facility that receives disposal from Waste Management and other independent haulers for transfer to landfills sites. Two separate buildings form the functional core of the development: a transfer building which receives waste material where it is transferred to larger disposal haulers, and the ticket office which receives and weighs the haulers. A boardwalk surrounds the detention area with signage that explains about the site’s sustainable features. The U.S. Green Building Council awarded the project a LEED® Gold certification.
