The Public Building Commission (PBC) of Chicago commissioned Wight & Company to provide construction management services for the Albany Park Branch Library. As Construction Manager, Wight's contract included site work, new utilities to service the building, and delivery of a new, one-story 16,500 sf full-service library and reading garden based on the design by Jackson Harlan, LLC. The library includes a flexible multi-purpose room, children’s library, teen gathering space, and breakout rooms. The facility, built to LEED Gold standards, features numerous sustainable elements, including a full green roof, rainwater harvesting, and high efficiency LED lighting.
