Wight & Company was selected, under an open-ended Job Order Contract, to provide design and engineering services for a number of improvements at the Cermak-Chinatown CTA station. Improvements included a new entrance at Archer Avenue and enhancements to the Cermak Road entrance.

The new entrance at Archer Avenue included: a fare collection building at street level; new stairs to the platform; temporary and permanent fare collection equipment; structural modifications to the platform support system; a new enclosure at platform level; site work including new planters, curbs, and sidewalks; upgraded mechanical, electrical, and communications systems; and signage.

Enhancements at the Cermak Road entrance included: escalator replacement; relocation of fare collection from platform to street level; new fare collection rooms; modifications to the framing and floor closure over a section of escalator and stairs; site work including new planters, curbs, and sidewalks; upgraded mechanical, electrical, and communications systems; and signage.
