Designing a sustainable, flexible, and modern workplace for our employees and clients.

Chicago Office
Wight & Company
Chicago, IL

Wight & Company’s Chicago Office is located in a designated landmark of the National Register of Historic Places. The project consisted of an interior build-out of one-half floor of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Powerhouse Building, situated in the Haymarket Square section of the city. The design included workstation configuration in an open layout, a large conference room, three private offices, administrative areas, and a mezzanine featuring group meeting space and high-density shelving. Wight’s Chicago location has been featured as one of “Chicago’s Coolest Offices” according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

Sustainability

We utilized a number of green building practices when designing our Chicago office, including low VOC adhesives, sealants, paints, carpeting, and systems furniture. Re-conditioned task chairs, cork pin-up space in collaborative areas, wheat-board filing tops, and sunflower-board tables all contribute to our list of environmentally friendly materials. The architecture of the existing building features 10-foot windows, which allows all workspaces to receive natural light. Our Chicago office is located within close proximity to bus lines and commuter rails and nearly 75% of office employees utilizing mass transit to get to work.
