Planning and supporting an architectural “Renaissance” to give new life to an entire school district.

District-Wide Master Plan and Modernization
Des Plaines CCSD 62
Des Plaines, IL

In 2007, the Des Plaines School District commissioned Wight & Company to embark upon a modern day “Renaissance.” The process began with a quality assessment of 11 existing elementary and middle school facilities that then evolved into an extensive District-wide Master Plan, and culminated in a three-phase implementation process. The Des Plaines School District serves over 5,000 students across eight elementary schools (K-5), two middle schools (6-8), one year-round school of choice enrolling students from kindergarten through eighth grade, and an Early Learning Center (located within one of the elementary schools). Throughout the three phases, we strove to improve all learning environments, expand the potential of all young learners and their instructors, and maximize performance results the community could see and support.
