Designing a state-of-the-art, sustainable office building for a high profile client in the Middle East.

Office Building Prototype
Kuwait Oil Company
Ahmadi, Al Ahmadi, Kuwait

The Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC) commissioned Wight & Company to provide design services for a new five-story office building within their headquarters campus in Ahmadi, Kuwait. Our design for the 850,000 sf building allowed KGOC to integrate technologies that help improve overall energy performance and human comfort. We also provided daylight and energy modeling for the project, addressing many of the environmental challenges that face infrastructure in Kuwait’s arid climate. The office building is targeting LEED-Silver certification.

Wight Abroad

Recent work in Kuwait has been an exciting opportunity for our firm to expand onto a global platform. Our goal is to create well-balanced design relationships between people and the environment, while addressing cultural, traditional, social, and economic factors. Our team integrates the most energy-efficient technologies available for a desert climate such as Kuwait’s, using the sun and natural environment to our advantage rather than viewing it as a hindrance. We strive to create structures that are beautiful, appropriate, and efficient for our Kuwait clients, defining a new international chapter for Wight.
