Creating an energized work environment for the modern attorney.

Tenant Build-out
Fragomen Worldwide
Chicago, IL

Fragomen Worlwide, recognized as the world’s leading global immigration services provider, selected Wight & Company to design their new downtown Chicago office. Because the architecturally significant building had a unique floor plate, with no right angles, our planning and design solution took advantage of the unusual architectural features and made use of leftover space in an efficient manner. Triangular conference rooms capitalize on what would otherwise be useless space. A café and optimal daylighting strategies were also included. This innovative environment sets a new standard for the modern legal workplace.

Putting the Employee First

The client desired an employee-focused workplace with new furniture and enhanced amenities. Because Fragomen’s employees work long hours from December to April (the darkest days of the year), optimizing light within the workspaces was paramount. Our design solution provides a good balance between natural daylight and direct-indirect lighting, well suited for desk-centric activities. The café is a favorite with employees and is located in prime real estate – adjacent to the reception area, overlooking the Chicago River. Its placement makes it easily accessible and fosters social engagement.
