Metra selected Wight & Company to provide construction documents for the completion of ADA improvements to the West Chicago station. This project featured three phases: schematic design, design development, and bidding. Central to these phases was a scope of services that included surveys, design development, coordination meetings, and construction document submittals. Wight proposed several modifications and additions to increase accessibility at the station, including better lighting, modifications to ramps and stairways as well as the sidewalk, two platforms to help identify accessible routes, and modifications to the station building itself. This project also called for coordination with the city of West Chicago and the railroad.
