The Chicago Public Schools (CPS) commissioned Wight & Company to provide construction management services for a large-scale renovation to Al Raby High School on Chicago’s West Side. Our scope of work included a complete masonry tuck-pointing of the entire exterior, rebuild of the parapet walls, and replacement of damaged lintels over several of the large original window openings. We removed the existing steam powered boilers and replaced them with chillers and rooftop units to supply heating and cooling to the building. The entire school was painted and fixtures were upgraded. We also installed a new electrical service and replaced the aging roof. The project was completed as a task order assignment under our existing School Improvement Program contract with CPS. The upgrades were designed by architect of record Ilekis Associates.
