Lewis University selected Wight & Company to provide enhancements to their Fine Arts Center, including a new art gallery and black box theatre; renovations to the main lobby; gathering and meeting spaces; expanded scenery and costume areas; and a percussion room for music. The art gallery was central to the project, consisting of three flexible areas for presenting exhibits and showcasing both student and professional art. The new, flexible theatre space – the Studio Theatre – also serves as a creative classroom, rehearsal, and production venue. One of the most highly-utilized buildings on campus, the Fine Arts Center hosts hundreds of student performances, concerts, community events, and lectures each year and is visited by more than 28,000 patrons annually. Along with the Lewis theatre department, many groups use the Fine Arts Center for meetings, rehearsals or performances.
