Village Tech Charter School selected Peter Brown Architects and Wight & Company to assist with a two-phased plan for their new campus. Phase I involved development of a temporary, modular campus; and Phase II involved planning for a permanent school structure. For the modular campus, we had only 80 days to design the temporary facilities and make them operable before the first day of school. The temporary campus design consists of 20 mobile buildings and one large administrative building connected by 18,000 feet of boardwalk. The modular solution provides an adequate learning community environment and will serve Village Tech Charter School well until a permanent facility for as many as 1,000 students is complete.
