Lewis University selected Wight & Company to provide architectural, engineering, and construction services for Sheil Hall, the oldest residence hall on campus and one of the oldest buildings at Lewis University. The project consisted of extensive renovation work throughout the facility, along with a new addition that increases the building identity on campus by providing a new entrance off the university commons lawn. ADA accommodations were also provided with a new elevator and renovated student toilet and shower facilities. Our construction schedule for the project was aggressive and required work to be substantially complete by August, before students returned to campus. The LEED certified project was completed on schedule, allowing students to take occupancy in time for the fall semester.
