Frankfort Township commissioned Wight & Company to design and build the new Frankfort Township Center to replace a long out-grown 1850’s repurposed farmhouse building. The project was part of a multi-phased program that officials planned in order to update and expand township programs and services over time. Besides offices areas, community rooms, and space for senior activities, the new two-story facility also houses the Lincoln-Way Communications 911 Emergency Response Center on the lower level, which serves as Homeland Security for Frankfort, Mokena, and New Lenox. We designed the center to improve emergency response times and provide more efficient working conditions for 911 Center staff. The new Township Center features sophisticated technology and integrated sustainable strategies, including a green roof, forest preserve paths, and bioswales.
