Senior Project Manager/Market Leader 

A senior level person with 15 plus years of experience who has a skill set which enables them to also help develop business.

This isn’t a position for someone who’s just a really good PM.  The right candidate could be someone who is more experienced on business development who can also provide operational support, or someone who is a trusted Senior Project Manager who has the potential to leverage previous clients or industry relationships and is comfortable in a sales setting. 

This candidate will be expected to:

  • Identify, source and pursue new business opportunities within his/her market specialties
  • Significantly contribute with the project executive and management team in the development of estimates, proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Provide operational support on projects at a senior PM level, including:
  • Maintaining the Wight/Owner contract
  • Monitoring and reporting on job cost and schedule
  • Leading the bidding and subcontracting process
  • Providing interface and communications with the Owner and project team
  • Mentor and manage personnel
  • Participate in industry organizations and events

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes and experience:

  • 10+ years of experience at project management level on commercial projects of significant type and scale
  • Experience with proposal preparation, sales presentations and marketing
  • Ability to identify and pursue project leads through sourcing, vetting, proposing and selection
  • BS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction required.  Masters’ degree or multiple degrees a plus
  • Some certification is expected: LEED Accreditation, PE, AIA Licensure, LEAN-CM, DBIA, PMP or other certification
  • Experience leading project teams
  • Experience as lead point of contact to client
  • Documented experience leading multiple projects of significant complexity and size ($15+ million)
  • Design-build project management experience a plus
  • Experience leading public bid process
  • Knowledge of and experience with construction claims, legal issues, contract disputes, etc.
  • Collateral experience to include participation in industry organizations
  • Experience supporting corporate initiatives
