Wight provided Design Led-Design Build services for the Village of Lemont’s new police station. The station accommodates all police department functions and the Lemont Emergency Management Agency (LEMA), as well as administrative office space, long-term storage, an evidence room, and lockers.
The facility also features a community room adjacent to LEMA’s offices that can be secured and utilized as an emergency operations center, or can be used by the community and local groups for meetings and presentations.
The new police facility incorporates several sustainable strategies, including bioswales, rain gardens, and permeable pavers in the parking lots. Public and secured parking areas, as well as four-vehicle sally ports and vehicle evidence processing bays, were also included.
The design includes separate male, female, and juvenile holding cells and an extensive security and communications network.
