The Naperville Heritage Society commissioned Wight to incorporate a number of sustainable initiatives into Naper Settlement, a 12-acre outdoor museum in Naperville, Illinois. Many historic structures reside on the site and the Settlement attracts visitors and groups from the broader Chicagoland area. We worked with the Naperville Heritage Society to refine a master plan and identify impactful projects that tell the story of Naperville's settlement days.

Green infrastructure was incorporated, including permeable pavers, rain gardens, bioswales, infiltration fields, and cisterns throughout Naper Settlement. We also provided site engineering, landscape architecture design, and construction services for infrastructure upgrades after the Society received significant grant funding for stormwater attenuation.
