Wight performed architectural services for phase two of Pointe 1900 on State, a mixed-use development in Chicago. Phase two included basement residential parking, first-floor retail space, and 72 residential condominium units on five floors. Faced with the challenge of block-long building façades along State Street and Archer Avenue, the design reduced the scale of the building’s mass into smaller and more intimate elements. The rhythmic recesses and bays create a compelling depth to the street elevations and offer visual and acoustic privacy for the custom iron balconies.
