In combination with major addition and renovation projects at three of its most aged and overcrowded facilities, Des Plaines School District 62 elected to maximize its resources and consolidate all of its early childhood education programs under one roof alongside the most centrally located elementary school.

The new Westerhold Early Learning Center consolidates administrative professionals and over 250 children, ages 3-5, with varying developmental limitations. Its mission is to provide a safe, secure environment where children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The center was designed to foster a child’s sense of discovery while awakening his or her awareness of the natural surroundings.
