IPRA’s Outstanding Facility Award in 2018
The Oak Brook Park District commissioned Wight to assist with the renovation of Central Park using our Design Led-Design Build methodology.
Originally constructed in the 1990s, the park was in need of updates and improvements to its infrastructure and amenities. The Park District successfully secured a $400K OSLAD Grant in 2015 and solicited various private donations to fund the park improvements. Improvements included:
- All-inclusive play environment
- Ball fields
- Permeable paver parking lot
- Trails
- Fitness stations
- Sports lighting
- Archery
